Panorama: Cinéma Ibérique in May in Brussels

The Panorama: Cinéma Ibérique is an initiative set up within the framework of the Spanish and Portuguese lectureship at the Université libre de Bruxelles. Its second edition will take place from 13 to 16 May 2026, under the title ‘Regards irisés / Iridescent Gazes’. Its aim is to explore the cultural and cinematic links between Spain and Portugal through a selection of films representative of both countries. This year, the thematic focus relates to the guarantee of equality in the eyes of the law, human dignity and individual freedoms.

At the university’s invitation, Queer Lisboa has programmed the Portuguese titles, comprising, in total, a programme of six feature films and eight short films screened over four days, a visual arts exhibition and public talks with artists, researchers and activists.

The initiative takes place with the support of the Embassies of Spain and Portugal in Belgium, of Camões IP and of the Instituto Cervantes in Brussels.

Admission to all events is free, though booking is recommended.
